An intern is being sought for a California government agency to assist in resource assessment for a planning and policy evaluation project. They are seeking a volunteer intern to collect and assess information related to coastal resource and access issues that pertain to the jurisdiction under periodic review.

| Requirements: |
The position requires an understanding of basic environmental terms and concepts and an ability to independently analyze planning and environmental documents. The most important qualifications are: an ability to extract and analyze information from complex files and reports; independent and professional work habits; the ability to take direction and work with others; a commitment to quality work and attention to detail. Familiarity with ArcView and Microsoft Access is highly desirable. All applicants must be over 18 years of age; a U.S. citizen (appropriate visa status for foreigners); currently enrolled at a U.S. community college or university; and be in good academic standing. Preference will be given to students enrolled at MATE partner institutions. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Interns MUST enroll in a for-credit cooperative work experience course!
