I.M. Systems Group, Inc. (IMSG) www.imsg.com is currently looking to hire a Marine Program Specialist to work at the National Marine Fisheries Service Headquarters Restoration Center (RC) located in Silver Spring, MD. The Restoration Center (RC) in NOAA restores the nation's coastal, marine, and migratory fish habitats to ensure healthy and sustainable fishery resources by utilizing a wide range of programs.
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of NOAA's involvement in the Estuary Restoration Act and Estuary Habitat Restoration Program, including work related to the interagency Estuary Habitat Restoration Council, made up of members from NOAA, EPA, NRCS, USFWS, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Duties:
· Oversee final preparations of public stakeholder meeting to gather input to revise the ERA Strategy and create a two year Action Plan.
· Guide the development of the Strategy and Action Plan and facilitate Council approval of these documents.
· Coordinate and conduct interagency Work Group meetings, including near-term meetings to rank proposals under the ERA solicitation.
· Write the Report to Congress on progress of the ERA.
· Keep the content of the ERA Website current.
· Develop a budget, working with managers, for Fiscal Year 2011.
· Develop presentation on the revised ERA Strategy and present at the Restore America's Estuaries Conference.
· Work with outreach team to ensure ERA is represented, as appropriate, in materials and on the Web.
· Oversee all projects funded through ERA to ensure completion and actions met. This includes funds for restoration projects and other work done either externally or internally.
· Coordinate the NOAA socio-economics work group to ensure progress on all efforts undertaken. |
| Requirements: |
Qualifications:
· Customer service personality is essential along with good negotiating skills.
· Strong project management skills including project scheduling, budgeting, contract and/or grants management, and ability to handle multiple, concurrent, and competing projects and responsibilities.
· Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with non-scientists along with effective telephone skills.
· Experience working on interdisciplinary teams.
· Candidates should possess a Masters degree or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience in one of the marine or aquatic sciences, fishery biology, ecology, hydrology, water resources, earth science, engineering, marine policy or a related field. |
