Brief overview of program: The Physical Ocean Science and Engineering (POSE) Program covers a wide range of research and educational topics. Common to all the research areas in the program is the application of fluid dynamics and wave mechanics.
Students are able to use physics and engineering for the advanced study of contemporary research topics in coastal physical oceanography, coastal engineering, ocean acoustics, near shore processes, environmental fluid dynamics, air-sea interactions and estuarine dynamics.

Description of Facilities: In addition to the sophisticated classrooms at CMES, students have access to the latest research facilities including the college's 146-foot research vessel, R/V HUGH R. SHARP, and a number of state-of-the-art laboratory facilities located on both on the Newark and Lewes campuses.
