Brief overview of program: Undergraduate students take a curriculum of maritime history, literature of the sea, marine policy and either marine ecology or oceanography. Additionally, students go sailing offshore on a tallship, explore the Pacific coast, and travel to the Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi Delta. Students receive a semester worth of credit from Williams College.

Description of Facilities: Our campus is Mystic Seaport, the Museum of America and the Sea which includes over 60 buildings and 4 tallships. In Fall 2007 we are opening our new marine science center for studies in marine ecology and oceanography and this will include a wave tank, 24 water monitoring, and research laboratories. Students have access to the Museum's collections for their humanities research. Students have several small boats to take out for use in field research.
