Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Technicians

Tasks and Duties

  • Operate ROV equipment including video and still cameras, acoustic positioning system, SONAR, robotic arms.
  • Supervise the launch and recovery of ROVs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment associated with an ROV as well as the vessel itself.
  • Utilize test and calibration equipment.
  • Perform basic rigging and operate small boats.
  • Perform basic electronic and hydraulic construction.
  • Maintain technical documentation on all aspects of an ROV.
  • Write post-mission (flight) reports when necessary.
  • Evaluate and interpret environmental conditions for safety.
  • Navigate ROV.
